Book Week 2025!

Always a genuine highlight of our year, CBCA Book Week is rolling around again in 2025!

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Book Week! As the Children's Book Council of Australia puts it:

For 8 decades, CBCA has been dedicated to inspiring young minds to journey through the countless worlds that books offer. We look forward to continuing this mission for the next 80 years and beyond!

This years theme is Book an Adventure! This gives an opportunity to think about all of the fantastic adventures books can take us on, from trips into a robotic future, pirates on the wide oceans or into completely unique worlds!

Book Week Speaker Junior School

To celebrate Book Week our Junior school will be visited by R.M McGurk this year!

Ruth is a talented writer and a primary school teacher as well! We can't wait for her to visit our Prep to Year Two students to discuss all things creativity and writing!

Book Week Speaker Middle and Senior School

Our Year Three to Six students will be visited this year by Damian Callinan!

Damian is an author as well as a comedian and actor! We have been fortunate enough to have him to our school in the past, and students absolutely raved about his visit, so we look forward to welcoming back for a chat and a good laugh!

Book Week Competitions

As with past years we will have a number of competitions for our students to help celebrate Book Week! These will highlight the creativity and writing skills of our students. We can't wait to share entries in future newsletters!

Book Week Parade

A true highlight of Book Week is always our parade and costumes. We love to see the imagination of our students and families as they dress up.

Our Book Week Parade this year will be held on Thursday the 21st of August. Our entire school will gather in our Padua Pavilion at 9.00AM to share costumes and celebrate! All parents and younger siblings who are attending the parade are encouraged to dress up as well!  We can't wait to see a massive range of Books represented in costumes!

Please keep an eye out for further information as Book Week gets closer! We look forward to a wonderful celebration with our community.

Happy Reading!
