First Holy Communion

Last Tuesday the candidates for First Holy Communion attended their second session in preparation for the receiving of the Sacrament. Fr Julian and Fr Noni visited the Year 4 classrooms and led the students in discussion and in preparation. Thank you to both priests for spending time with the candidates!

Please keep them in your Prayers as they prepare to receive the Eucharist for the very first time.

The dates for the First Holy Communion Masses are:

  • Saturday 23rd August at the 4pm and 5.30pm Parish Mass

  • Sunday 24th August at the 9.30am Parish Mass

Mary MacKillop Feast Day

Last Friday, on the 8th August as a school community, Year 5 led us in a prayerful reflection on the life of our first Australian Saint - St Mary MacKillop. They reminded us that she dedicated her life to education and caring for the poor and disadvantaged, particularly in country and remote areas of Australia.

Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Feast of the Assumption is celebrated on August 15th every year.   On this day, we remember that God brought her body and soul into Heaven. This is called being ‘assumed’ into Heaven.

The Feast of the Assumption is a holy day of obligation

Don't forget our Fathers’ Day Breakfast & Liturgy:  Friday 5th September.

Be sure to save the date!!

Have a fabulous fortnight everyone !
