Book Week 2025

Children’s Book Week is The CBCA’s key highlight national event of the year. This year’s celebration will run from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August.

The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure! 2025 is also a milestone year as we celebrate 80 years of Children’s Book Week! For 8 decades, CBCA has been dedicated to inspiring young minds to journey through the countless worlds that books offer.

School-Based Celebrations Include:

  • Character Dress-Up Parade: Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character on Friday 22nd August.

  • Parents are invited at 9.15 for the parade and the 80 days of Reading raffle draw.

  • Adventure Literacy based activities across Kindergarten to Year 6.

  • Storytelling Sessions: Special guests, including authors and illustrators, will share their stories and creative journeys..

  • Book Fair: A curated selection of children’s books will be available for purchase on Friday 22nd August.

  • Open classrooms: Following the parade. Parents are invited to join their child/children for a picnic morning tea.

We encourage all families to get involved and help us foster a love of reading in our students. Whether it’s dressing up, reading together, or exploring new stories, Book Week is a chance to celebrate the joy and adventure that books bring into our lives.

Let’s make this year’s Book Week an unforgettable literary journey!

Traffic Behaviour

Parents, please be reminded that when you are accessing our school site in your vehicle, to obey the traffic rules and drive in a safe and courteous manner.  We ask you to take more care around pedestrians and students on foot, who may be crossing our driveway at Port Hacking Road.

We have recently had a number of complaints about reckless driving entering our site. We are in communication with the Police and we are working with them to ensure that our community is driving safely and responsibly.
