Big Summer Read Competition

Dear Schools in the Southern Grampians Shire Council,

 

We are pleased to announce the Big Summer Read is taking place at the Greater Hamilton Library these summer holidays!

 

The Big Summer Read aims to arrest the ‘summer slide’ by engaging children and their families in a fun and dynamic campaign through public libraries, including a competitive element with a statewide and local prizes as added incentive for participation. 

 

The Big Summer Read runs from 1 December 2023 until 31 January 2024. To kick off the Big Summer Read the Greater Hamilton Library will be hosting Emma Stuart, a local author/illustrator who will be presenting two Illustration Workshops for children on Saturday December 2nd.

  • 9.15am – 10.15am (Ages 3-6)
  • 10.45am – 11.45am (Ages 7 -12)

To join the Greater Hamilton Library program and for the chance to win great prizes, participants simply fill out a registration form with their first completed reading log. Prizes include -

  • First prize:  $500 Harvey Norman Voucher
  • Second prize: $300 Daktari Voucher
  • Third prize: $100 Family Pass for Halls Gap Zoo

Every additional 10 books qualifies for another chance to win, with Reading logs available to collect at the Library.
