This week's notes

Dear families and friends,

Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch

The students attended the Senior Citizens lunch at the Hall on Monday.  See the page attached to the newsletter for some pictures.

Statewide Orientation Day

Tuesday was the Statewide Orientation Day.  Darcy and Tilly enjoyed their day at Baimbridge College and the Cavendish PS students loved being in next years grades for the day.  Ms Ferrier came out to say hello and we also welcomed back Harry and Mark in Foundation.

Student Nurse

The School Nurse attended school on Thursday and assessed some of the Foundation students. Once the school receives the assessments back they will be sent home to the relevant families.

Junior School Council - World Vision

With the money raised from the casual day a few weeks ago for World Vision, the JSC decided to buy the gift of a pig.  A pig can help a struggling family grow a thriving business as when a piglet becomes a sow, she can produce up to 12 piglets a year. A rich source of fertiliser to help successful vegetable farming while sustainably providing children and families with improved health and nutrition.  Thank you to all families for donating towards this.

Presentation Night

Thank you to everyone who attended the Presentation Night last night.  Glad the weather was more favourable than Tuesday.  It would have made for a sweltering night at the Hall otherwise. Thanks to Mrs Barber for all the musical content on the night.  Congratulations to all students, staff and families on another successful year at Cavendish PS.

Unfortunately Pam & George Coates couldn't attend the evening for Justin's graduation but sent in this lovely message:-

To Cavendish School Community & Parents' Club,

As grandson Justin completes his primary school education this year I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the school and supported Justin and his family through a sad and difficult time and enabling us to move forward.  The members of Parents' Club made me feel very welcome and I enjoyed our times together working on catering, get togethers and kid's activities.  I have known many parents from the 1980's and met new ones.  It is lovely to watch the children grow and mature.  Thank you for welcoming Panida into the school community also.  It won't be long (2 years) and Leo will be at school.  I will visit the school as 'just a grandma'.

It is a wonderful little school and is one major part of this community of which you should all be proud.
