Ordering numbers through games

We did a space train game yesterday. We have to have number cards and put them in a line 0 to thirteen. We needed 14 cards to win. We had to go faster and get them all before your parter. If we already had the number we pulled from the cards, we put it in a pile to trade with the partner. I played with Percy and he won. I liked it because we learned a new game.

We have been working on making 'box bedrooms' in Maths. This has involved measuring all the different pieces of furniture in the room before we make and install them. We have to figure out the radius and the diameter of each circle, the length and width of the windows, and the size of each piece of paper which needs to be installed as 'wallpaper'. We have all been having a really good time, and making the most of our hands-on maths activity.

Some wins, some losses but best of all plenty of encouragement. It was cold and wet but our spirits were high!
