Join the Pony Club Victoria Board: Shape the Future of Equestrian Excellence

Are you passionate about Pony Club and ready to make a meaningful impact? Pony Club Victoria (PCV) is excited to announce vacancies on our Board, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of our community. We're calling for nominations for two Elected Board positions and two Zone Nominated positions, specifically seeking Directors with Targeted Expertise. These roles will be elected or appointed at the PCV 2025 Annual General Meeting.
The Opportunity
We're seeking individuals who share our enthusiasm for equestrian sports and are eager to influence its strategic direction in Victoria. Ideal candidates think strategically, make informed decisions, and are hands-on contributors ready to help reshape our organisation.
Key Experience Required (in one or more areas):
- Finance or accounting
- Human Resources, especially in managing, training, and upskilling a volunteer workforce
- Governance
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Previous Board experience in not-for-profit (NFP) organisations
- Understanding of key metrics for assessing organisational performance
- Ability to leverage business networks for philanthropic support, sponsorships, pro bono advice, or volunteer assistance
- Equestrian background, whether through participation, coaching, volunteering, or supporting a family member
- Expertise in child safety, development, or education
Commitment Expectations
As a volunteer Board member, you'll play a vital role in steering PCV forward. Here's what we expect:
- Attend monthly Board meetings (primarily online).
- Serve on one of our committees: Finance, Risk and Audit; Nominations; Governance; or Safety and Sustainability.
- Participate in at least two state-level events—your involvement will be a key measure of contribution.
- Bring your professional expertise to the table and actively contribute where it counts most.
- Uphold Child Safety Standards and commit to ongoing professional development in this area.
These are unpaid volunteer positions, with reasonable Board-related expenses covered by PCV. Directors must hold a current Working With Children’s Check and be (or become) a member of a local club.
PCV is dedicated to diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with disabilities or those representing the disability community, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, the LGBTQI+ community, and candidates aged under 50 (:P).
