Assistant Principal

Dear Families,
NAPLAN
Next week, beginning on Wednesday March11, our Year 3 and and 5 students will participate in the NAPLAN assessment program. They will begin with the writing task on Wednesday and then complete the Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy assessments over the following few days. The students have completed a practice assessment this week on the NAPLAN platform to familiarise themselves with the style of questions and different ways to respond. These all went very smoothly and indicate that we are well prepared for next week.
We wish all of the students participating the very best and know that you will all do yourselves proud.
Primary School Nursing Program
Rosie, our designated school nurse, will be visiting our school next week to conduct the initial health assessment for our Foundation students who have had consent provided to participate in the program. If you have not yet completed the questionnaire and would like to participate it is not too late: please register and complete the screening questions either online, using the QR code in the brochure attached or by returning the completed paper copy to the school before next Wednesday.
Please refer to the information letter below for further information or contact the school if you have any questions.
Allied Health
Many families across the school are working with allied health services both within the school day by having workers attending the school for structured appointments or attending appointments outside of school hours. These professionals provide support in a range of areas and we would like to ensure that we consistently support any strategies and apply recommendations made by them.
If your child/ren are receiving support from services (eg: speech therapy, OT etc..) please reach out and let the school know. We would like to work cooperatively with these services to ensure maximum impact for the students and support them in applying strategies and practices recommended.
Have a lovely long weekend - after tomorrow afternoon's assembly of course.
