Kitchen Garden

Our Kitchen Garden has been buzzing with activity lately! Students have been getting their hands dirty in the vegetable patch, planting seasonal vegetables and learning how food grows from the soil up. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they worked together to prepare the beds, plant seedlings, and care for the garden. We have begun planting seeds for our Autumn and Winter crops and are looking forward to seeing these grow.

In the kitchen, students enjoyed making no-nut chocolate energy bars. They practiced measuring, mixing, and working safely in the kitchen while learning about healthy snack options. Best of all, they got to taste the delicious results of their hard work.

In the coming weeks students will also be involved in planning the next stage of our garden near the BER building. They will help choose plants from a list of low-flammability indigenous plants.
