Sport Update
Junior Hooptime
On Monday 7th September, we had 51 students from Year 3/4 compete at Junior Hooptime at Casey Stadium. This was a great day for students to practise their basketball skills and knowledge of the rules when playing against other schools in our area. We had lots of wins, some losses and some great sportsmanship, which was great to see.
A big congratulations to our Future Stars team - Clyde Canaries, who where undefeated for the day and won the Grand Final against Clyde Creek. They will progress through to Regional Hooptime in Term 4.
We would also like to say a big thank you to our parent helpers - Jenni, Karlie and Amy for their help with coaching and scoring during the day, we really appreciate your help.
Rugby Gala Day
On Wednesday 9th September we had 30 students attend a District Touch Rugby Gala Day, where we learnt about the game, and played some games against other schools in our District. During the lunch break there was also a 3 legged race and a teachers/students rugby throwing race. It was great to see some team spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Division Athletics
On Monday 14th September, we had 17 Clyde students attend Division Athletics, which is amazing. There was a lot of tough competition, but all the students did their best, had fun and made us all proud.
Congratulations to Nesta (4A) for making it through to Regional Athletics in Triple Jump.
Well done to the following students for placing and receiving a ribbon:
- Nesta (4A) - 2nd in Triple Jump
- Harry (4A) - 3rd in Shot Put
- Jess (5B) - 3rd in High Jump
- 9/10 Girls relay team - 3rd
- 9/10 Boys relay team - 3rd
Run Club Winner
This term, we have had another successful Thursday morning Run Club. It was great to see so many kids coming out on Thursday mornings before school to participate in our Run Club, even with some cooler weather! We are so excited to keep this running in Term 4, and we hope to see SO many more kids having a go!
The results this term were every close. Every House won at least once over the term. Some weeks it was even between two Houses or even just one lap difference. Our Winner for this Term was Beechers with 493 laps. Ballarto were a close second with 461 laps, Ridgway with 414 and Yallambee 287 laps.
This terms reward for the winning house was 20 minutes time in the gym on Wednesday 16th September. There were some great rotations and equipment set up including : Table Tennis, Volleyball, Balance, Scooter boards, Hoola hoops and more.
Next term there will be a different, Summer themed, reward for the winning House, so make sure you get to Run Club every Thursday from 8:40-8:50am and walk, run or skip as many laps as you can for your House!
