Gardenvale Staff ‘Thank You’ Morning Tea

The staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the PFA, especially Robyn Krawitz and Deb Putt, for organising such a beautiful morning tea on Gardenvale Staff Day, held on 31st October. Everyone truly appreciated the effort and kindness shown by the PFA in making the day so special.

At Gardenvale, we celebrated this occasion in recognition of the incredible work undertaken by all our staff. Without the dedication and hard work of every member of Team Gardenvale, our school would not be the exceptional place that it is!

Important Reminder

With the relocation of Team Kids to the Junior Campus, families are reminded that the Senior Campus school gates open at 8:45 am. Teaching staff will be on duty to supervise students in the schoolyard from this time. Thank you for your cooperation in supporting a safe and well-supervised start to the school day.

Preparations for Major Building Works

Everything is progressing according to plan as we prepare for the major building works scheduled to commence at the Senior Campus at the beginning of 2026.

Here are some of the key decanting tasks currently underway:

  • The move to the Junior Campus for our Team Kids before- and after-school program has gone very smoothly and is working out extremely well. Our younger students are certainly not missing the walk between campuses after a busy school day! We are very grateful to Team Kids and our staff for ensuring everything was ready for the big move.
  • Work is continuing on the new portable building, which will accommodate two Year 5 classes. The remaining Year 5 classes will be using the spare classroom in the Year 6 building.
  • In the MPC, construction is well underway to transform the space, with new walls being built to create two classrooms, administration offices, and a staffroom.
  • The construction of the new shed to store PE equipment will commence this Thursday.
  • Please read below for an update on how our Library program will operate during this transition period.

Library Update for 2026

Exciting developments are on the horizon for our Senior Campus, with major works underway that include a brand-new library space for our students. While these upgrades take place, our library operations will look a little different in 2026 — but rest assured, reading and library learning will continue!

At the Junior Campus, students will still enjoy weekly library sessions and have access to a carefully selected range of library books. At the Senior Campus, Year 3 and 4 classes will also have access to a rotating collection of books, and their library program will continue in a slightly modified format.

Please ensure that all library books are returned by Friday, 14 November, to help us prepare for this exciting new chapter.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work towards creating a fantastic new library space for our school community. We can’t wait to share it with you!

Junior Swimming Program

Our Year 3 to 5 Swimming Program will conclude this Friday.  Next Monday, 17th November it will be our Junior Campus students’ turn to be involved in the swimming program for 9 sessions concluding on Thursday 27th of November.

Have an enjoyable week,

Janine
