From Our Students

Foundation
Our Foundation students have been settling into school so well. They have been learning about patterns as well as days of the week. Our students have been loving learning about dice, and the numbers they can roll, alongside grasping the concept of 2D shapes.
We have loved seeing them show excellence, resilience and respect in their learning, and being 5 star learners.
Here is some of the amazing work they have been doing:
Junior School
Our Junior School have been nailing their literacy rotations which has been so great to see! In their phonics, morphology and text-based units, it is wonderful to see all the brilliant learning our students are doing.
In Numeracy it is great to see them learning about shapes, and them building shapes, learning by building 2D and 3D shapes, as well as joining shapes together.
Here are some of our VERY proud students showing us how much they are learning!
Middle School
Last week our Middle School left for Camp! It was so wonderful to see the resilience they showed through trying new things and giving everything a go, even if they were unsure!
They participated in activities like the Giant Swing, Archery, Flying Fox, Damper Making, Survival Skills and a Low Ropes Course. At night time, our students participated in a campfire activity. They especially loved this because they got to toast marshmallows on the fire. On their second night at camp they all have a movie night - Despicable Me 2! And before the movie they got to participate in a Bush Dancing class!
Camp Gundiwindi had animals that the kids loved - Sheep, Chickens and Lizards. It was great to see our students interact with them so gently!
On their final day they went to Lilydale Lake, where they had lunch and played on the playground and in the water park! They also enjoyed games of parachute!
Senior School
Senior School students have been learning about what it means to be a global citizen, and what it looks like. It has been great to see them getting involved and working in small groups to create a poster all what global citizenship is, what it means to them, as well as the community.
Connections Update
Our group of connections students have been doing an amazing job around the school, the students alongside Mr Lyon, Amber and Lou have been helping with the maintenance and up keep of our gardens. It's great to see them so engaged in learning about the environment, and learning hands on skills!
They do the mulching and weeding around the school each week, keeping our school grounds looking amazing all the time! They go to the local kinder and Japara house, interacting and making connections with the community.
Each team this term have been working on a special project. One group has created a GaGa Pit - which has been an absolute hit with all the students at KPS. They have loved playing it each recess, and we have loved seeing everyone coming together and playing it!
What a great idea from these students - our students are playing every recess! It has been such a wonderful tool for our students showing how to play GaGa ball respectfully and with resilience.
Another group is creating a fairy garden! They have been making and creating little sculptures from clay to put in the garden. We have loved seeing their creative flare come out in these creations.
