Remembrance day

Remembrance Day Ceremony at Glen Innes High.
On Monday, 10th November, Glen Innes High School held its annual Remembrance Day Ceremony to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
We were privileged to have representatives from the Glen Innes RSL Sub-Branch, including Gail Turnbull, James Tattersall, Rod Gair and Victor Tracey join us for the occasion. Their presence provided a meaningful connection between our students and the wider community as we paused to reflect on the significance of this national day of remembrance.
Our student leaders led the ceremony with dignity and respect, including the reading of The Ode and the coordination of the minute’s silence, marking the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front in 1918.
A wreath was placed at the front of the school to pay tribute to all who have served and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Glen Innes High School is proud to continue this important tradition, ensuring our students understand the values of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who served our nation.
