Stage 3 News 

Welcome, Year 6 students, parents, and carers.

 

We hope you had a wonderful holiday and are feeling excited about the year ahead. We have many great activities planned for our Year 6 students and look forward to creating lots of special memories together.

 

To help your child have a successful day at school, please ensure they:

*Wear their full school uniform following the HPS guidelines.

*Pack their school bag the night before, so they are prepared for the day ahead.

*Bring a water bottle and a healthy crunch and sip, along with recess and lunch.

*Have their iPad fully charged and ready for use at school.

*Complete any homework assigned by their teachers.

*Use a “before I leave” checklist when packing their bag to make sure homework and books are not forgotten.

 

Year 6 Science Incursion.

 

On 19 February, our Year 6 students will explore Starr’s Planetarium, which features the most advanced 360-degree portable immersive theatre system. This cutting-edge technology surrounds the audience with stunning visual displays on all sides, creating a completely immersive environment that simulates being inside space itself.

The students will enjoy a high-resolution 4K Earth and Space science presentation. This show uses vibrant visuals and accurate scientific data to take students on a journey through the universe. They will further learn about the planets, stars, galaxies, and other celestial bodies, gaining insight into the vastness and wonders of space.

Through this interactive and awe-inspiring space adventure, students will develop their curiosity and appreciation for science, sparking inspiration and excitement about the subject. This experience supports their classroom learning by bringing key scientific concepts to life and encouraging questions and exploration about our universe.

Overall, the visit to Starr’s Planetarium promises to be an unforgettable educational experience that combines advanced technology with fascinating content to engage and inspire our Year 6 students.
