Stage 1 News 

Year 1

Welcome back to 2026 at Hurstville Public School. Our Year 1 students have had a great first week back!

A few reminders for this term:

• Students are required to wear their sports uniform each Thursday.
• Please label all of your child’s belongings, including their school hat, uniform, lunchbox, and water bottle.
• Dismissal is currently at 3:00 pm in Area 4. We will move to alternative dismissal arrangements once Year 1 classes are formed, and a note will be sent home to inform you of this change.

We look forward to a wonderful year with our Year 1 students.

Year 2

We would love to welcome back the Year 2 students, Parents and Carers. We can't wait to meet and get to know your children in the coming weeks. As we start the new school year, can we please ask the following:

- label all items (water bottles, lunchboxes, hats, clothing items etc)

- ensure your child has a water bottle and hat each day, especially with the warmer weather. If your child doesn't have a hat, they will need to play in an undercover area in their designated playground area. Students also need to bring crunch and sip (fruit or vegetable snack), recess and lunch each day. If students have a lunch order, please clearly write their class on the lunch order. Until we move into 2026 classes, please put the class your child was in last year eg 1M.

- discuss what your drop-off and pick-up plans are for each day. Please have students arrive and picked up on time as it helps them settle-in for the school day. If something happens and you can't make the 3pm pick-up time, please notify the office by 2.45pm. Please keep in mind that some after-school activities have not started yet. When they do start, please make sure your child is aware where these activities are being held.
