Dear Parents
Welcome back to all our St Francis Xavier families, and an especially warm welcome to all the Kindergarten and other new families. I hope your break was restful and you were able to spend some quality time together with family in the sunshine.
February is celebrated in the Catholic church as the month of the holy family.
Heavenly Father, We thank you for the gift of family.
Bless and protect our homes with your love and grace.
Guide us to live in peace, harmony, and faith,
To show patience, understanding and forgiveness.
Holy Family of Nazareth, help us be mindful of the sacredness of the family,
and its beauty in God’s plan.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer.
Amen
Asking your child about their day
As parents we are anxious to hear about our child’s day, and their simple responses may leave us wanting more detail. Usually it’s best to allow them a moment to rest, eat and play a little before we ask some questions, such as
What made you really happy today?
Who made you laugh today?
Did you see someone show kindness today?
Did you help someone today?
Who did you sit next to in class?
Who did you sit with at lunch 1/ lunch 2?
Where is the best place to play at school?
What was your favourite thing you ate today?
Did your teacher read you any books today?
Was it anyone’s birthday in your class today?
What was something you found hard today?
What was the highlight of your day?
