Assistant Principal

Dear Families,
We are now almost 4 weeks into the 2026 school year and the students and teachers are well settled into routines. Our new Foundation students are adapting to the new expectations of school life, including developing new friendships, understanding music and bell routines as well as being actively involved in their learning programs. The classrooms are buzzing with enthusiasm and already some quality learning of knowledge and skills is evident. One of the most rewarding times of my week is visiting classrooms and getting to speak with the students about their learning. I am also working with some groups of Year 3 students in the lead up to NAPLAN, supporting them with understanding the numeracy questions and developing appropriate problem solving strategies.
Primary School Nursing Program
Information has been sent home over the past two weeks to all of our Foundation families explaining the Primary SchoolNursing Program. The program is a free health and wellbeing service offered to all Victorian students in their first year of school.
Thank you to those families who have scanned the QR code to logon and complete the initial questionnaire. I would encourage all families to take advantage of the program by completing the questionnaire and registering for the initial screening that is scheduled for later this term.
Paper copies of the questionnaire have been sent home to families who have not completed the online version, which may be more suitable for some families. Only one version needs to be completed
If you require assistance to complete either the online or paper questionnaire or to register please contact the office or see me directly. The school nurse will also be attending the parent information session next week and can provide further information or answer questions.
Please refer to the information letter below for further information.
Allied Health
Many families across the school are working with allied health services both within the school day by having workers attending the school for structured appointments or attending appointments outside of school hours. These professionals provide support in a range of areas and we would like to ensure that we consistently support any strategies and apply recommendations made by them.
If your child/ren are receiving support from services (eg: speech therapy, OT etc..) please reach out and let the school know. We would like to work cooperatively with these services to ensure maximum impact for the students and support them in applying strategies and practices recommended.
Have a lovely weekend - after tomorrow afternoon's assembly of course.
