Dear Families,
This morning our junior classrooms were filled with excitement, nerves and anticipation as we welcomed our Foundation class for 2026 to their first transition session. It is always an exciting time as we get to know who the newest members of our community are. The staffroom was full too, so many parents stopped for a cuppa and an opportunity to have a chat. Those who already have children at the school helped those doing the transition for the first time feel at ease and were on hand to share their experiences and answer questions. This was very much appreciated and we look forward to getting to know all of our new families.
Staffing News
We will welcome Mrs Malini Tyne back to St Therese's for 2026 after the birth of her daughter. Malini will be working four days a week and is joined by Mrs Liz Szabo as her co-teacher. The third member of our Foundation team will be Mr Andrew Orchard who is looking forward to working in the Junior school. I'm sure they will be a great team and they are already looking forward to getting to know the children.
Whilst I know this is the time of year where many families begin to guess who will be teaching in which year group, at this stage the Foundation teachers are the only ones confirmed. I aim to share the rest of the teaching structure with the community in coming weeks. I would, however, like to share that Mrs Emma Davies has been appointed as Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching and will commence her role at the start of the 2026 school year. Emma visited with us today and will join us for our final Foundation transition session and I'm sure our school community will make her feel very welcome.
School Fees
All families will receive a letter outlining the school fee structure for 2026 this week. This will also include a direct debit form for those who prefer to pay fees this way. Please note fees for 2025 must be paid in full by the end of November. If you have any questions or concerns regarding fees, please have a chat with Colleen Johnson in the office or you are quite welcome to make a time to meet with me.
End of Year Arrangements
We know that some families are leaving us at the end of school year as their children move onto high school, other families have already notified us that they have moved or are moving house and will not be returning to St Therese's in 2026. If your child is in Foundation to grade Five and you are enrolling in a different school for 2026, could you please email the school to let us know.
Stay warm and dry on this blustery afternoon,
Felicity Broughton
