As we come to the end of Term 2, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their contribution to a successful semester at Heatherwood.
I am incredibly proud of our students and all they have achieved this semester. Across classrooms, sporting teams, leadership groups, art programs and a wide range of extracurricular activities, students have consistently demonstrated commitment, resilience and a willingness to challenge themselves.
There has been a great deal happening across the school. Our Student Representative Council has been actively contributing ideas to improve school life, and the introduction of hoodies to the Heatherwood uniform has been met with great enthusiasm. The Art Expo provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase the creativity and talent of our students, and our S5 students impressed at the Engineering Expo with their innovation and problem-solving skills.
Our Year 11/12 students have participated in weekly Industry Days, giving them the opportunity to engage with employers, industry professionals and training providers as they consider their future pathways beyond school. Our Year 10 students gained valuable workplace experience through their work experience placements, while Year 9 students have continued to engage with the Future Ready Program as they explore future pathways. The swimming program across Years 7–10 has also been a great success, providing students with essential water safety skills and confidence in the water.
This semester has also seen many camps, excursions and learning experiences take place across all year levels. These opportunities allow students to build confidence, strengthen relationships and develop skills beyond the classroom, and it has been wonderful to see so many students involved.

Another exciting development this semester has been the progress of our new building project, which is now nearing completion. It has been fantastic to see the building take shape, and we look forward to the opportunities the new facilities will provide for our students and staff.
There are plenty of exciting opportunities and events planned for next term, and I look forward to seeing our students continue to learn, grow and achieve success.
Thank you to our staff for their dedication and hard work, and to our families for your ongoing support. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday break and look forward to welcoming students back next term.
