Principal's Report

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

- William Butler Yeats

As we move towards the end of another busy and productive term, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful learning opportunities our students and staff have engaged in over the past fortnight.

Our Post School Options Tour Days have continued to be extremely well received by our secondary families. These tours provide parents and carers with valuable opportunities to visit a range of adult services and post-school providers, helping them to make informed decisions about future pathways for their child. The feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the opportunity to see programs firsthand, ask questions and gather information in a supportive environment. We have one more tour remaining and look forward to continuing these important conversations about our students' futures.

On Tuesday, staff participated in a highly successful Curriculum Day focused on the implementation of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0. We were fortunate to have our Senior Education Improvement Leader (SEIL), Carolyn Elliot and Education Improvement Leader (EIL), Gayle Wilde facilitate the day, providing valuable insights into the curriculum changes and supporting staff to deepen their understanding of effective curriculum planning and delivery. The day was filled with rich discussion, collaboration and professional learning, and we are confident that the work undertaken will have a positive impact on student learning outcomes across the school.

Our Primary students thoroughly enjoyed the Monash Tech School incursion this week. Students participated in a range of engaging, interactive and exciting activities that encouraged curiosity, creativity and problem-solving. Experiences such as these help bring learning to life and provide students with opportunities to explore technology in meaningful and accessible ways.

A reminder to families that the last day of Term 2 is Friday 26 June, with students finishing at 2:30pm

Warm regards,

Sandra Battisti
