Dear Karoo PS Community,
What an exciting fortnight to be at Karoo PS! Thank you so much to the families that were able to come and visit our school during World Maths Day celebration and Education Week Open afternoon last week on Wednesday. It was lovely to walk around and see our students proudly showing their parents their classrooms, mathematics reflection journals and the mathematics work that they are proud of.

What a success! Our 2027 Foundation Discovery Night, on Wednesday 20th May from 5:00-6:00pm, was abuzz with excitement as our future 2027 foundation families had the opportunity to explore what Karoo PS has to offer!
Thank you to our fantastic Foundation team, Specialist team, Administration Team and Leadership team for all their support to make the night such a fun experience for our future Karoo PS students!
Karoo PS will be running the BBQ at Scoresby Bunnings on Saturday 30 May, and we would love to see members of our school community come along to support this fundraising event. Whether you stop by for a sausage, a drink, or simply to say hello, your support is greatly appreciated and helps contribute to valuable opportunities and resources for our students.
A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteers, families, and staff members who have generously given their time to help make the day possible. Events like these are only successful because of the support and involvement of our wonderful school community, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone’s contribution. We look forward to seeing you there!

It is with heartfelt congratulations I share that Miss Katie Smith has been successful at obtaining a position at the Monash Tech School. She will commence her new role at the start of Term 3 and therefore will conclude her time at Karoo PS at the end of this term. I am sure you will join me in thanking Katie for her contribution to our school community and wish her every success in her new role. I know that our school community have all enjoyed working with Katie during her time at KPS and our students and staff have benefited immensely from her knowledge and expertise.
I would also like to share that Mrs Lauren Billotto, is stepping back from her Educational Support role at Karoo PS, due to personal reasons. Lauren has greatly valued being part of the Karoo PS team and has appreciated the support, friendships, and opportunities experienced during her time at our school. On behalf of Karoo PS, I would like to thank Lauren for her contribution to the Karoo PS community and for her care and support. I know you will join me in wishing Lauren all the very best for her future endeavours.
Furthermore, I would like to inform our school community that our current Mandarin teacher, Miss Wenxi Jiang, who has been replacing Hilary Cheng during her maternity leave, will also be finishing her time at Karoo PS at the end of this term. Wenxi will be travelling back to China for a family reunion. We thank Wenxi for her valuable contributions to Karoo PS and for the enthusiasm, and dedication she has shown to our students during her time with us. We wish her all the very best in her next adventures. We look forward to welcoming back Hilary Cheng as our Mandarin teacher in Term 4, and further information will be shared with our school community soon regarding Mandarin in Term 3.
A reminder that our Curriculum Day for Term 2 is next Friday 5th June. There will be no school for students on this day. OSHC will be available for those who have booked in.
I look forward to seeing you all around our sensational school.
