Luna Roo has finally made their appearance and the book has been read along with over 2 million other students from around Australia. And what a wonderful time the classes have had enjoying this lovely story.

Luna Roo has been having a great time spinning on the library display ready to play!

We had lots of fun in the library lunch club colouring and doing a scavenger hunt, even if the weather didn't cooperate.

PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

TIME TO LOG BOOKS

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is in full swing, and what an incredible start we’ve had! Thousands of books have already been logged, and it has been wonderful to see students exploring new stories, discovering favourite authors, and sharing thoughtful reviews along the way. The excitement around reading has truly been contagious throughout the school community.

A reminder to all students and families every book counts! Whether you borrow from our school library, visit your local library, listen to an audiobook, or revisit a favourite from your bookshelf at home, every page read helps you move closer to completing the challenge.

Let’s keep the momentum going and see how many books we can log together before the challenge ends!

LEADERBOARD

A shout out to 2BE who is closing the gap for 2nd! Keep it up!

As of this newsletter, our students have logged almost 4,000 books, with the following classes and students leading the race to read the most books.

Australian children’s author and Karoo favourite, Andy Griffiths has been announced as the 2026–2027 Children’s Laureate, becoming the official ambassador for Australian children’s literature.

His theme, Reading is an Adventure, encourages children and families to see reading not as a chore or school task, but as an exciting journey filled with imagination, creativity, and discovery.

Throughout his laureateship, Andy will champion the important role that educators, librarians, and booksellers play in helping young people develop a lifelong love of reading. He will also lead a range of imaginative and interactive storytelling initiatives designed to inspire children and families to explore the joy and adventure that books can bring.

Andy Griffiths will be on at the Arts Centre with his new show.
