Snow Event

What a truly enchanting weekend to kick off August! On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the weather transformed the region into a stunning winter wonderland with a significant snowfall. Many are claiming it to be the largest accumulation since the 1980s. We hope that all our families had a delightful time in the snow while staying safe and warm throughout the weekend.
Memories of the 1984 Snowfall at Guyra Central School
Anthony Gaukroger, a former local and student of Guyra Central School, shared photos capturing the significant snowfall of 1984, which led to the school's closure for an entire week. Among the images is Mr. Bill Wicks, the longest-serving Principal of Guyra Central School, seen clearing snow from the premises. Many members of our school community were students at the time and likely recall this remarkable snowfall.
