Principal Report

Mrs Luckman

It has been a wonderful start to Term 3, filled with the usual buzz and excitement across the school.

A big thank you to our amazing parents and friends for providing such a delicious lunch recently—we are so grateful for your continued support of our school community.

I've been busy behind the scenes getting everything ready for our upcoming school camp. All the information will be sent home as soon as the printer is back up and running, so please keep an eye out for it.

We’d also like to wish all our senior students heading off to netball today the very best of luck. I’m sure it will be an entertaining and energetic day—I hope to pop over and catch a game or two! Which I managed to do, and what a great day everyone had! I'm really proud of the teamwork and great sportsmanship everyone showed.

One of the real highlights of the past fortnight was having Brian and Jan visit and share in the joy of the children receiving our generous donations and the exchange of letters. It was truly special to witness the students’ understanding and amazement as they learned about how people in other parts of the world live differently to us. Some of the things that really stood out to them included that children sleep on the ground, toilets are simply holes in the ground, and chickens are caught fresh for meals.

When we began this partnership, we hoped to make even a small difference. What we didn’t expect was the incredible support and generosity from our wider community. Every project and every call for support has been met with kindness and action.

Just last Monday, Brian mentioned that the next goal for the school overseas was to purchase a computer and printer, with an estimated cost of $1000. In an amazing turn of events, the very next day, Food Bank contacted us and generously offered a $1000 donation toward this partnership. It just goes to show the power of putting good intentions out into the community—sometimes, things come together before you’ve even asked.

Brian also spoke to our staff about sponsorships, as he and his wife currently fund several children’s education themselves. We were blown away to see four staff members step up immediately to become sponsors.

Attached below is information about students currently in need of sponsorship. If you—or someone you know—might be interested in supporting a child through education, we’d love for you to consider it. Sponsorship not only helps provide essentials like food and uniforms, but also gives a child the chance at a brighter future.

Thank you again for all the ways you support our school and the wider community—we are so proud of what we’re achieving together.

Our senior students and Kim are doing a fabulous job running Library for Littlies every Wednesday. This special program is open to everyone in the community and provides a wonderful opportunity for connection. Each week, our senior students read a story aloud and then guide the younger children through an art activity based on the story. It’s a fantastic way to help build relationships, encourage creativity, and support oral language development in our younger learners.
