Guest Speaker - Chris McHugh

We were incredibly lucky to have Chris McHugh come speak to our year four, five and six students last Thursday morning.

Chris was an International Beach Volleyball player representing Australia at Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Tokyo Olympics. Chris is a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist in 2018 and 2022.

Chris spoke about his journey as a child playing sport, all the way to playing at the Olympics. In his speech, he talked to students about the importance of gratitude, resilience and persistence and setting goals based on your dreams.

Students got the opportunity to ask questions and to see and hold his gold medals.

It was a great opportunity for students to see the commitment a professional athlete makes and get some tips about working towards short- and long-term goals, whether it be sport, music or education-related.

This November, Adelaide is hosting the World Beach Volleyball Championships at Memorial Drive from 14th-25th. This is a great opportunity for students interested in volleyball to see the best athletes in the world come right here.
