Principal's News

Good Morning Families,
What an amazing Green Day we had on Friday!
Together, our school community raised a fantastic $450.00 for Muscular Dystrophy Australia. It was wonderful to see our school brightened up with a sea of green clothes and creative green hair!
One of the highlights of the day was our jellybean guessing competition, which gave us a beautiful look into the heart and values of our students. We ended up with two equal winners from Prep. When offered the choice to either share the jar of jellybeans or have a tie-breaker guess, the girls conferred with one another and happily chose to share the prize. What a heart-warming moment. This is Shining with Mercy Spirit!
Thank you to everyone who supported Green Day and helped bring awareness and funds to help kids stay stronger for longer
Celebrating Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
The Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary is one of the most significant celebrations in our school year. As the patroness of Holy Rosary School, Mary reminds us to place our trust in God, to care for one another with compassion, and to walk together in faith. Through the Rosary, we reflect on the life of Jesus through Mary's eyes, finding hope, peace and strength for our own journey.
This year, our celebration holds even greater significance as Holy Rosary School celebrates 110 years of Catholic education. Since 1916, generations of students, families, staff and parishioners have helped build the vibrant community we know today. We give thanks for the legacy of faith and learning that has been entrusted to us and celebrate the Mercy spirit that continues to guide our school.
Our 2026 theme, Walking Together, beautifully reflects this special occasion. As a school inspired by the Mercy tradition, we know that our strongest communities are built when we journey together supporting one another, celebrating our gifts, and living the Gospel through our words and actions.
To mark this milestone, all members of our school community are invited to join the parish community for the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Mass on 11 October at 10:30am. Following Mass, everyone is invited to gather for lunch in the school hall as we continue our celebrations together.
We hope all families will join us for this special celebration as we give thanks for 110 years of faith, learning and community, honour our patroness, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, and look forward with hope as we continue Walking Together into the future.
Planning for 2027
Our plans are underway for the 2027 year! We kindly ask families to let us know if your child will not be returning to HR next year. Having this information helps us with class planning, staffing, and welcoming new families into our community. Please notify the school office as soon as possible.
Father's Day Celebrations
This year, our Father's Day celebrations will be held on the Monday before Father's Day. We have several school events that have necessitated this change to our usual practice, including our Student Free Day on the Friday. Please add Monday 31 August from 7:45am to your calendar. A formal invitation will be sent.
Building Program
The builders will be onsite this week bringing in their equipment. They will be setting up under the library so this area will be unavailable between now and the end of the year. We will talk with students about this today to alert them to changed procedures for arrival in the morning and for play.
Blessings for the week ahead,
Christine
