It has been an exciting few weeks in the library!

Our recent Book Fair was a wonderful success, and students thoroughly enjoyed browsing the fantastic selection of new books. It was wonderful to see so much excitement about reading and discovering new stories. A huge thank you to all the families who supported the Book Fair by making a purchase. Your generosity helps us continue to build and improve our school library collection, providing even more wonderful books and resources for all students to enjoy.

Across the school in Library lessons, classes have been busy reading and discussing the shortlisted titles for the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards. Each level voted on which book grabbed their attention based on the cover and the blurb, and we are enjoying getting the chance to read each book and see if you can, in fact, judge a book by its cover! Students have loved sharing their thoughts on each book and predicting which books they think will be the winners. The official winners will be announced on 21st August, and we look forward to celebrating the outstanding books and authors and seeing if our predictions were correct. 

A reminder that our Book Week Parade will be held on Wednesday 26th August in Week 7. 

Now is the perfect time to start thinking about a favourite book character to dress up as. We can't wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm of our students as they bring their favourite stories to life!
