At Dundas Public School we do our best always

What a term it has been at Dundas! It is hard to believe just how much we have managed to fit in and how many wonderful opportunities our students have had along the way.
Over the past few weeks alone, our Years 3–6 students have completed their Check-in Assessments, we welcomed our future Kindergarten families at our Kindergarten Expo Night and continued connecting with our littlest learners through Preschool Storytime.
We celebrated the important people in our students’ lives with our Father’s Day Stall, thanks to our wonderful P&C, and our Father’s Day Breakfast. We also came together for R U OK? Day, with activities encouraging connection, kindness and looking out for one another.
Our community spirit has certainly been on display! Through Jeans for Genes, we proudly raised $271 for a wonderful cause. Thank you to everyone who supported this important initiative.
Our Dundas Fun Run was a fantastic day! Our students had a brilliant time getting colourful, tackling the course and cheering each other on. Thanks to the incredible support of our families and community, we raised an AMAZING $ 21 863 towards improvements across our school! What an outstanding achievement!
A very special shout-out goes to Theo from KB, our top fundraiser, who raised an incredible $1520 all on his own! An amazing effort, Theo!
A huge thank you to every family who donated, shared fundraising pages and got behind our students. We are so grateful for the wonderful community spirit that continues to make Dundas such a special place.
Our community spirit has certainly been on display! Through Jeans for Genes, we raised an incredible $271 for a great cause, and our Fun Run has brought plenty of excitement while raising valuable funds to support improvements across our school. A huge thank you to every family who has supported these initiatives.
We were also incredibly proud to be part of Big Mob Day, bringing together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from across the Carlingford Network for a day of connection, culture and belonging. And, of course, there was plenty of friendly competition when our teachers took on our senior students in the Teachers vs Students Netball Game!
It has been a massive Term 3, filled with learning, celebrations, community, culture, connection and plenty of fun. Thank you to our incredible staff, students, families and P&C for everything you do to make Dundas such a special place to learn and belong.
I hope all our Dundas families have a safe, happy and restful holiday break. Enjoy the chance to slow down, recharge and spend time together because we will all need the energy for what is shaping up to be another wonderfully busy Term 4!
See you next term! 💛🐝

Keeping our students safe as they travel to and from school is a shared responsibility. With our roads particularly busy during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, we ask all families to continue modelling safe and responsible road behaviours.
Please remember to use designated crossings where available, park legally, follow the 40km/h school zone limits and take extra care when driving, walking, riding or scooting around our school. For our younger students especially, holding an adult’s hand when crossing the road and learning to stop, look, listen and think are important habits that help build lifelong road-safety awareness.
You may have also noticed our very own “Safety Sarah” regularly popping up on School Bytes! A big thank you to Sarah for the fantastic work she is doing to keep road safety front and centre for our community. Safety Sarah will continue sharing regular updates, reminders and helpful information with families through School Bytes to support us all in keeping our students safe.
The NSW Department of Education also has a fantastic Safe Travel resource for parents and carers, with information about walking, riding, travelling by car and helping children develop safe travel habits. We encourage families to take a look: Safe travel
Thank you to our Dundas families for your patience and care around our school. Small, safe choices from each of us make a big difference. 🚸💛

DUNDAS PUBLIC SCHOOL GLOW DISCO
Ms DONNA DAVIS ( Parramatta )—Once again, the fantastic Dundas Public School and their ever dedicated Parents and Citizens Association have gone above and beyond to make the important schooling years extra special. Dundas Public School held its Glow Disco on Friday 19 June. As students finished a hard and long school week of studying and learning their energy was revived with the excitement of a glow disco. Students paraded their fantastic dance moves and sang along together to popular tunes in a night of fun. Students were encouraged to wear white for the best UV light effect and were given a drink and a glow stick to party the night away. When Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students were ready to head home it was time for the cool kids of Years 3 through 6 to hit the dance floor and party. Special thanks to Laura Wear, President of the Dundas P&C. The event raised money to go toward the cost of the new water bottle refill bubblers. Thank you to Laura and the P&C Committee for their dedication to supporting and uplifting the children of Dundas Public School to socialise and have fun outside of the classroom.

Our Wadangali Mob students have been doing wonderful things, learning, sharing and strengthening Aboriginal culture across Dundas Public School.
Working alongside our Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer, Patrick Pumpa, students have participated in yarning, dance, storytelling, On Country learning and cultural activities. Importantly, students are taking their knowledge back into their classrooms, helping their peers and teachers deepen their understanding of Aboriginal histories, cultures and perspectives.
One of the Mob’s proudest achievements has been developing our new Dundas Public School Acknowledgement of Country. The students:
We are incredibly proud of the leadership shown by our Wadangali Mob and look forward to seeing their learning continue to grow and be shared throughout our school. 🖤💛❤️
