Dear Parents and Carers,

Please find attached information regarding a powerful and confronting evening for older youth, their families and friends. Participants will gain a real-world, honest insight into the consequences of risky behaviour - delivered by the very clinicians and first responders who witness these outcomes daily. 

Please note, this is appropriate for young people over the age of 16 years.  

Year 10 Immunisation

Dear Parents,

The City of Monash Immunisation team will be visiting Mazenod College on Monday 24th August to deliver the Year 10 immunisation program.  

In accordance with the National Immunisation Program, all Year 10 students will be offered the following vaccination:

•    Meningococcal ACWY

All parents are required to complete the digital consent form via the Vitavo online portal, regardless of whether your child will be receiving the vaccine. Details for accessing Vitavo have previously been provided by the City of Monash.

To prepare your child for this vaccination we kindly request:

 •    Students wear their sports uniform on the day of vaccination

 •    Ensure a good breakfast is eaten, including plenty of water 

 •    Let your son’s pastoral teacher know if they are feeling nervous about receiving the              vaccination.

It is important that parents ensure that they have notified the Monash Immunisation Nurses on 9518 3555 if any of the following apply:

•    Are unwell on the day of immunisation (temperature over 38.5°C)

•    Previously had a severe reaction to any vaccine

•    Have any severe allergies such as an anaphylactic reaction to yeast or latex

•    Have a disease or are having treatment which causes low immunity.

•    Have a known hypersensitivity to diphtheria toxoid

•    History of hives after a vaccine.
