Year 5 Yarning
Conference Excursion
On Tuesday 20 October, our Year 5 students enjoyed a wonderful day at the Yarning Conference at Bundoora Park.
Throughout Term 3, students explored Aboriginal history and culture in preparation for the excursion. They worked together to create posters, which they proudly took to the conference and which will be displayed at Darebin Libraries.
At the conference, students deepened their understanding of the importance of Country to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They also enjoyed hands-on planting activities at Bundoora Park Farm, contributing to the care of the local environment.
It was a day of learning, collaboration and connection. We are proud of the enthusiasm and respect our Year 5 students showed throughout the experience.
