An update from Shar (PE Specialist) 

State Cross Country 

For the first time in the history of BSWPS, we had 6 amazing students make it to the 2026 STATE LEVEL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS. 

These students had to finish in the top 10 places at School level, District, Division then Region level, to qualify for the State Championships. Over 10,000 students started the event at the grass roots level, but only 80-100 students in Victoria make it to State level. 

Our students showed incredible motivation, resilience, and determination throughout the Carnivals. They encouraged and supported each other on race day and gave their very best effort. I am so proud of them and even shed a tear or two. Congratulations to Aymara, Quentin, Rory, Sidney, Jacob and Thomas P. 

A special mention to Rory who came 6th in the 11-year boys' category and will now go on to compete in the National Championships held in Sydney this September - we wish him luck and will be watching him live on the SSV Cross Country site.

Touch Football

Some more exciting news for BSWPS. Billie and Sachi have made the Victorian State Touch Football team. They will compete in the National Titles in October against the other states in Australia. Sophia Congdon is on the reserve list. We couldn't be prouder of our students who willingly give things a go and achieve amazing results.
