Principal's Report

I'm thrilled to announce that I'm now the Principal at BSW! It's a privilege to take on this role, and I want to say a huge thank you to our amazing students, staff and this wonderful community for all your support these past six months. I'm excited for what's ahead.

Congratulations to the Prep students (and their families) for reaching 100 days of Prep. We are so proud of how much our Prep students have learned, the friendships they've built and the independence they've developed. Keep shining bright!

Enrolment applications for Prep 2027 close on the 31st of July. If you have a prep child starting in 2027, please ensure you return the enrolment form to the office. You can find the enrolment applications on our website.

Speaking of enrolments, we have 12 new students who have enrolled this term. So, if you see any new families around the school, please say hello and make them feel welcome.

Apologies to those who weren't receiving Compass notifications last week, there was a nationwide issue affecting users with Microsoft and Hotmail email addresses. This has now been rectified.

We have a Curriculum Day on September 7, students are not required to attend school on that day. Team Kids will be operating a full-day program.

On Friday at Assembly, I mentioned that I welcome feedback and am always looking for ways to include student voice at our school.

I often get letters on my desk from students who want to share what is going well, what they are learning about and ways we can improve things at BSW. I now have a post-box next to my office and students are welcome to leave me a note. I may not respond to all the letters, but I will read them all and make sure they are actioned or get to the right place: whether that's school leaders, teachers, the SRC, club organisers or the wellbeing team.

Our next working bee is on Saturday, the 29th of August. We have a long list of things we need to do around the school to give it a bit of extra love. Please sign up here.

Stay warm,

Poppy Nixon (Principal)
