Students and staff had a fantastic day at the Lightning Premiership on Wednesday, 11th June, competing in Netball, Soccer, and AFL. All teams demonstrated outstanding persistence and sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are incredibly proud to share that our AFL team went undefeated and won the competition! Congratulations to the team and their coach, Miss Waldock, on this amazing achievement. They’re now eagerly preparing to represent our school at the next level against Division Schools early next term. Go team!
Last week, Kim and Molly from Westernport Basketball led engaging coaching sessions for all of our students. Our Juniors practised jump stops, ball control, handling, and shooting through fun games like Green Light, Red Light, Popcorn, and Tunnel Ball.
Year 3/4 students enjoyed similar activities, with the addition of a dribble relay.
Year 5/6 students focused on quick reflexes, ball control, passing, and footwork, wrapping up with an exciting game of 2 Ball Knockout. We look forward to welcoming them back this week for the last session. They have kindly offered to assist us in selecting both a Year 5/6 girls and boys basketball team for the Lightning Premiership event happening in
Term 3.
