Year 5/6

This term, the students have been learning about block programming, using our new Edison robots. They have been experimenting with creating an algorithm (a set of steps) to complete a set task.  In this session, the students need to program the robot to drive forward and get the Edison robot to stop with its wheels exactly on a particular spot on the finish line.  This involved some trial and error and applying new learnt information to help successfully achieve their goal. We have some budding programmers!!

Science

Year 1/2

Watch out BHP! Our 1/2 students have been learning about the Earth’s resources. Our lesson this week focused on how we use minerals and where we find them. We had to find different minerals in the sand using a sieve and the and then sort them into three groups: gems, metal or rock. Lots of fun was had by all!
