Principal's News
All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
Well what an amazing start to our 2024 school year we have had over the last two days. All classes have settled into their new classrooms, the halls are buzzing with noise and the amazing St Louis energy is back in the building.
For the first three days of the week our staff were engaged in Professional Learning including First aid and analysing and using learning data to create individual goals for our students, preparation of learning spaces and meeting with families during our Meet and Greet sessions to be able to gather some insights into each child. The three days were very busy but helped to ensure the start of the year was a smooth transition for all.
On Monday we welcome back Ms Stutterd from her overseas adventures and we look forward to having her back. On Tuesday morning we will have our beginning of year mass for years 1-6 at 9.15 in the hall followed by the leadership badge presentation for our year six students.
On Tuesday we also have our very first PFA meeting for 2024 and we are looking for as many new and returning members as possible. We will be meeting in the staffroom at 7pm and people will have a chance to mingle and find out what the PFA is all about. You don't need to be able to commit to much to help out and support the PFA, if you are interested or curious please join us on Tuesday evening.
We would like to take the time to introduce some new and returning staff for 2024. A big welcome to the following staff;
- Mr Brendan Ellul joining us in 2024 as one of our year 4 teachers and PE on a Friday. Mr Ellul is back with us after a year abroad teaching at an international school in Vietnam.
- Mrs Breanna Jamieson has joined our year team as well working with Mrs Darby.
- Mrs Cathy Wells has come to St Louis this year working in the office and with the leadership team.
- Mrs Catherine O'Donnell and Mrs Angela Stutterd have joined our sensational Learning Support Officer Team
- We also welcome back Mrs Emily Johnson who returns to the LSO Team after maternity leave. It is fabulous to have her back at St Louis
- Jacqueline Kavanagh is new to the Library and she will be working with Kerri Hirst to promote reading and literature
