WALKING TOGETHER IN EASTER JOY

Gallery Image

We hope your family had a restful break and a blessed Easter, filled with moments of peace, joy, and togetherness. As we begin this new term, we do so in the light of the Resurrection—a time that reminds us of hope, renewal, and the enduring presence of Christ in our lives.

Throughout the Easter season, the Gospel story of the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35) offers a beautiful message for our school community. In this story, two disciples walk together, feeling confused and disheartened after the events of Good Friday. Along the way, Jesus joins them, though they do not recognise Him at first. It is only when they sit, listen, and break bread together that their eyes are opened, and they realise He has been with them all along.

This story speaks deeply to our journey as a community. Like the disciples, we are all walking together—students, families, and staff—sometimes with questions, sometimes with uncertainty, but always accompanied by Christ. In our classrooms, on the playground, and in our daily interactions, we are invited to recognise Jesus in one another: in acts of kindness, in shared learning, and in moments of care and compassion.

At our school, Term 2 is a time for renewed energy and growth. Our students return ready to learn, reconnect, and continue their faith journey. It is especially exciting for those students in year 3 (and other year levels) who are preparing to make their First Holy Communion.  We encourage our families to take time, as the disciples did, to pause and reflect, to share stories of faith at home, and to recognise the presence of God in everyday life.

As we move through this term, may we keep our hearts open, just as the disciples did when they said, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road?” May our hearts too be filled with that same warmth and excitement as we grow in faith and community together.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school family. We look forward to a wonderful term ahead, walking together in faith, hope, and love.
