Deputy Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,
Like many of our Year 5 families, we are on the tour circuit, looking for a secondary school for the boys. It is such a big decision and there are so many factors to take into consideration. This is how many of the parents, we are currently taking on tours of HT, are feeling. It has made me reflective about the benefits of communities.
I feel very lucky to be part of the Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s community where parents and teachers work as teams to support our children. Where the staff can look at the students and instantly know that something is up and then have a strong enough relationship to talk about it.
On a recent tour I asked our school captains, Indie and Patrick to think about what they like about Holy Trinity. Indie said it feels like a giant family, Patrick said not only do the teachers teach us subjects and learning, they teach us to be good people. I couldn't have been happier that this is how they feel. The staff have been making many changes to how they teach but if children don’t feel happy, learning doesn’t happen. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if problems arise, so all our children feel like Indie and Patrick.
We are almost at the end of Term One and what a giant term it has been. The students and staff all look very ready for a break. We have packed so much into this term - P-4 swimming, Twilight Sports, Athletics Day, Cross Country, Parent Teacher Interviews, PSGs, prep parent dinner, Harmony Day, reinstating school captains and leaders, SRC, Mini Vinnies, NAPLAN, first aid for staff, school tours, a visit from staff from another school to watch our teachers in action, prayer services and the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Year 3 students. A giant thank you to all of our staff who work tirelessly for our children.
Congratulations to our Prep students and families - you have survived your first term of school. Only 51 to go!
The school holiday break is a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to rest, relax and recharge the batteries in preparation for a busy Term Two. I hope that you have a happy Easter break and spend time connecting with each other.
School Tours
We are currently running School Tours for prospective families who may be interested in joining our community in the future. We have a higher than expected number of enrolments for this time of year. If you know anyone who may be interested in having a tour of our school please direct them to our website to book in for a tour. Word of mouth is so important. A reminder to all existing families who have a child who will be starting in Prep next year, to please ensure that you have completed your child's online enrolment application for 2027 if you have yet to do so.
Final Day of Term
The final day of term will be an early finish for our students, with students finishing at 1pm. If you require your child to be supervised after this time could you please complete the google form to indicate that your child will require supervision.
Harmony Day
Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating Harmony Day. Thank you to Mrs Schafter who organised so many engaging activities for the day. It was lovely to see so many children wearing clothes that celebrated their culture.
Athletics Day & Cross Country
A giant thank you to Mr Masters for his level of organisation that led to both days running smoothly. Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered, we could not have run these activities without your assistance.
Please make sure you read the 'Sports Report' page to read more about these special events!
Hot Cross Bun Morning Tea
A big thank you to the hard working parents from the parents association who have
organised the Hot Cross Bun sales and morning tea for this coming Thursday. We appreciated all the work you do for the students.
Farewell to our Crossing Lady
Tracy, our crossing lady from Wallace Rd has informed us that she is retiring at the end of this
term, after nine years of service. We thank Tracy for her friendliness and warmth, as she helps everyone cross safely. We are hoping that Tracy will take up our offer to become a volunteer at Holy Trinity.
Save the Date - Mum’s afternoon
We will be celebrating Mother’s Day as a school community with a prayer service and
afternoon tea on Thursday 7th May @ 2.00pm.
