Melbourne Uni - Narrm Scholarship
We believe all students should have equal access to higher education and to a supportive community to achieve their full potential. The Narrm Scholarship Program, which launched this year, is for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, who apply for undergraduate study through Access Melbourne.
Narrm Scholars receive a $6500 yearly living allowance to help them settle into life at Melbourne and focus on their studies. They’re also able to take part in a tailored enrichment program throughout their degree designed to nurture their academic potential, encourage connections with fellow scholars and strengthen their professional connections.
Students are eligible for the Narrm Scholarship Program if:
- They come from a low socioeconomic background
- They or their parent/guardian receive a means tested Commonwealth income support payment, or
- They are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Narrm Scholars who come from a regional or remote area will also receive a one-off $3000 relocation allowance, and be eligible for a separate accommodation allowance, worth up to $20,000. A limited number of scholarships are offered to students who are experiencing difficult circumstances or who have a disability/medical condition, based on their overall level of disadvantage.
