School Council Update

Over the past fortnight, we have completed our School Review, an important process that takes place every four years to reflect on our progress and help shape the direction of our next Strategic Plan.
It was a privilege, in my role as School Council President, to represent our parent community on the review panel alongside school leadership, Department of Education representatives, experienced principals from other schools and an independent reviewer.
Throughout the review process, the panel met with students, staff and parents, and spent time in classrooms to get a feel for daily life at our school. It was wonderful to hear students describe Bimbadeen as “one big family” and to see the pride they take in celebrating each other’s individual strengths. Parents spoke about the welcoming feel of the school and shared a range of perspectives and experiences, all of which were captured as part of the review process. Across all groups, there was a clear and consistent sense of genuine care for our community, along with strong, respectful relationships between staff and a shared commitment to working together for the benefit of every child.

As part of the panel discussions, school leadership reflected on the many achievements of recent years, alongside thoughtful and constructive conversation about areas for continued growth. This valuable process has helped shape our newly drafted Strategic Plan as we continue building on the strong foundations already in place.
Thank you to everyone who contributed so openly and thoughtfully throughout the review. I know that the school leadership team is looking forward to sharing the final review report with the community once it becomes available.
Warm regards,
Kate Rogers
School Council President
