Wembley Wellbeing Dogs – 2026
We are so excited to reintroduce our wonderful Wembley Wellbeing Dogs for 2026! At Wembley, we are incredibly fortunate to have River and Ginny as valued members of our Inclusion Team.
River will be onsite with us each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while Ginny joins us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both dogs are part of Dogs Connect, a program that supports schools to enhance student wellbeing, engagement and emotional regulation through positive interactions with trained wellbeing dogs.
Our wellbeing dogs play a special role in our school community. They provide calm companionship, help students regulate emotions, and create safe opportunities for connection. For some students, spending time with River or Ginny can support confidence, reduce anxiety, and build social skills. For others, they are a friendly and reassuring presence during the school day or within structured wellbeing sessions.
Students are always supported to interact with the dogs in a safe and respectful way, and participation is carefully planned as part of our broader wellbeing and inclusion practices.
We feel very lucky to have River and Ginny as part of our Wembley family. Their gentle presence continues to bring joy, connection and calm to our school community, and we look forward to another wonderful year with them in 2026.
Disability Inclusion Update – 2026
This year our continued focus is working alongside our staff, families and students to continue strengthening inclusive practices across our school. Our leadership team has recently met to identify students who may be considered for a Disability Inclusion Profile in 2026. Families of these students will be contacted in the coming weeks with further information and next steps.
Student Support Group Meetings – Term 1
Our Inclusion Team is also currently planning Term 1 Student Support Group (SSG) meetings. These meetings will be scheduled progressively across the remainder of the term, and a member of the leadership team will reach out to relevant families where applicable.
We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with our school community to ensure every student is supported to thrive in their learning environment. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
