Through Learning We Discover God
We are thoroughly enjoying our exercise time each morning! After our morning circle, we spend around five minutes exercising and stretching before beginning our Mathematics lesson.
The students have become very knowledgeable about checking their pulse, understanding why it increases during exercise and recognising the importance of stretching. As many of our lessons require the children to sit on the floor, regular stretching and movement are important to help keep our bodies comfortable and ready for learning throughout the day.
Most importantly, check out the smiles in the photos! Our morning exercise not only gets our bodies moving, but also lifts our spirits. We have noticed that after exercising, the children are more engaged and ready to participate in Mathematics, with bright eyes and minds ready for learning.
It has been wonderful to see the positive impact that just a few minutes of movement has on everybody.

1/2RS grabbed a precious moment in week 9 and enjoyed our FRAT (Fluency reading at three) outside in our kitchen garden. The children loved reading to their partner outside in nature and we hope to be able to utilise this space in the future for more reading opporutnities.

The T.S.Elliot cats were puringly wonderful last night. Thankyou to all our parents for the fantastic costumes and facepaint. Your children worked so dilegintly over the term to remember all the poems, I am sure you are so proud of them. Ihope you all have a safe, healthy and restful school break. Last week, our Preps had some helping hands from their wonderful Year 6 buddies as they used their Chromebooks for the very first time!
Working together, the Preps learnt how to use the keyboard to enter their usernames and passwords, while also learning how to be safe and careful when using their devices.
Once they were online, the Preps enjoyed playing a variety of literacy games and practising their word recognition skills. It was wonderful to see our younger students learning alongside their buddies and building their confidence with technology!
A big thank you to our Year 6 buddies for being such patient and supportive helpers!

Our Prep students have finished the term exploring the text Wombat. Through both fiction and non-fiction texts, students learnt all about the fascinating life of a wombat.
As part of their learning, the students wrote their own information reports about wombats. They included information about a wombat’s appearance, habitat and diet. To support their writing, students used a word bank poster to help them select and use topic-specific vocabulary.
It has been wonderful to see the students developing their knowledge, writing skills and confidence throughout this unit!

Our Prep students have been busy revising their knowledge of numbers from 1–50. They have been practising counting forwards and backwards and exploring important mathematical language such as one more and one less.
This week, students enjoyed playing a variety of fun and engaging games to develop their number sense. In one activity, each student was randomly given a number between 1 and 50 and worked together to place the numbers in the correct order.
It was fantastic to see the Preps working cooperatively, helping one another and using their mathematical knowledge to solve the challenge!

Wishing everyone a happy holidays!!

Thankyou to Gail Pearson, Mrs Witchell's mum who came in to speak about her charity work with St Vincent De Paul. It was a wonderful talk with the entire 5/6 cohort that connected really well with our religion unit.
