Child Safeguarding

Standard 6 of the Victorian Child Safe Standards focuses on ensuring that people working with children are suitable and supported to prioritize child safety and wellbeing. It emphasises the need for organisations to have robust recruitment processes, appropriate supervision, and ongoing support for staff and volunteers to uphold child safety practice 

At St Joseph’s, we support child safety and wellbeing through: 

• clear policies and recruitment guidelines to ensure the right people are part of our community 
• a shared Code of Conduct for all staff 
• ongoing staff training to maintain best practice 
• carefully planned rosters and timetables to ensure supervision meets all guidelines and keeps students safe 

Together, these practices strengthen our shared responsibility to ensure every child in our community is safe, valued, and supported.
