Reset Room – Supporting Student Wellbeing

This term, our school is excited to trial the Reset Room, a thoughtfully designed space that supports students’ wellbeing, self‑regulation and readiness for learning.

The Reset Room offers students an opportunity to step into a calm, supportive environment when they need a short break to regulate emotions, refocus their thinking or recharge before returning to learning or play. Providing students with access to this space helps build skills in self‑management, emotional awareness and resilience.

Access to the Reset Room is guided by class teachers working closely with Mrs Schwab, ensuring that its use is purposeful, supportive and responsive to individual student needs.

What the Reset Room Offers

A calm and welcoming space that promotes emotional regulation

Support for students to re‑engage positively with learning

Opportunities to practise self‑management strategies in a safe environment

Reset Room Guidelines

No food is permitted in the Reset Room

The space is designed for calm regulation, reflection and purposeful engagement .

📆 Term 2 Trial (Weeks 1–5)

Days: Tuesday & Thursday

Time: Second break (1:40pm – 2:05pm)

Students will pack up and transition back outside at the end of each session

Supervision: Mrs Schwab

🕧 Access During Learning Time

Some students may benefit from short Reset Room visits during learning time:

Access requires prior approval

A staff member will support the transition, or Mrs Schwab will assist if needed

Visits typically last 10–15 minutes, depending on student need

Students are encouraged to help reset the space before returning to class

👥 Additional Use of the Space

The Reset Room will also host Social Stencil sessions, supporting students’ social and emotional development.

By offering spaces like the Reset Room, we continue to strengthen our whole‑school approach to wellbeing, inclusion and learning success. Thank you for your partnership and support as we trial this initiative for the benefit of our students 💛

Attendance – Attend today, Achieve Tomorrow

Attendance is linked to learning:

  • 100% attendance = Best chance for progress in learning with this attendance.
  • 96.99% attendance = Less chance for progress in learning with this attendance.
  • 92.99% = Harder to make progress in learning with this attendance.
  • 90% and below = It is extremely difficult to make progress in learning with this attendance

Please consider the following which will help your child progress in their learning:

  • Holidays outside of school holiday times
  • Make appointments after 12.40 or after school has finished
  • Rest helps children prepare for learning

The Resilience Project

Gratitude involves recognising and expressing appreciation for the people, places and things in our lives. Practising gratitude allows us to pay attention to what we have, increasing feelings of happiness and leading to a more positive outlook on life.
