Teacher Farewell
Next week, we say farewell to Natalie Panesar (PA) as she takes some time away from Keelonith.
In the short time I have known Natalie, I have been really impressed with the way she connects so well with students and families. Her ability to build strong relationships has had a really positive impact on students. She is an exceptional teacher and has been a great support to her team and everyone on staff.
I know she will be missed by students, families and particularly our staff, and we wish her all the very best during her time away.
On that note, PA will have two teachers in their learning space at the start of Term 2.
We are pleased to welcome a new teacher to our school community, Natalie Goz. Natalie brings experience from a variety of schools, having worked as both a junior classroom teacher and CRT. She will be one of the teachers in PA, working Monday to Wednesday.
We’re also excited to share that Brooke Slopak our Learning Specialist will be working the other days, Thursday and Friday. Brooke has already been working with all Prep students this year, so she will be a familiar face for them. Her understanding of the students’ learning and wellbeing will be a great asset to the class.
We’re really looking forward to seeing Natalie and Brooke work together to build a strong, supportive learning environment for our students. Natalie will also be visiting the school on Wednesday to meet the students and complete a handover.
Assembly
Just a reminder that our final assembly for Term 1 has been moved to Thursday 2nd at 9:05am, just before our Cross Country event.
This will be a great way to start the morning, including the opportunity to see Ben shave his head as part of the World’s Greatest Shave. We will also be running the Easter raffle during this time, so make sure you grab some last-minute tickets for your chance to win.
2026 Parent Payments – Thank You
We would like to thank those families who have already made their 2026 parent payments voluntary financial contributions.
Your generous contributions support the additional resources and learning opportunities that help enrich the educational experiences we offer at Keelonith Primary School.
The requested payment contributions are broken into several parts:
- Curriculum Contributions - These contributions support the classroom materials students use each day, such as paper, pens, pencils and workbooks, as well as a range of learning resources used across the year.
- Other Contributions - These contributions support areas such as school grounds and building maintenance.
- Tax-Deductible Contributions - This optional donation supports our Library Fund, helping us maintain a well-resourced and engaging collection of books and resources for our students.
If you are yet to make your 2026 parent payment contributions, we greatly appreciate any support families are able to provide.
Payments can be made easily through Compass by selecting the payment icon on your homepage.
Please feel to contact us if you have any further questions.
Community Survey Reminder - Last week
If you haven’t already done so, I would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete our anonymous community survey. Your feedback will help us better understand what is working well at Keelonith and where we can continue to grow.
Thank you to the families who have already taken the time to provide their feedback. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Collecting Children During the Day
If you need to collect your child early, please notify the office in advance so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate students, particularly if they are in specialist classes or other learning areas.
To minimise disruptions, please avoid collections during:
• Play 1: 10:58 - 11:28
• Play 2: 1:14 - 1:44
During these times, children may not hear PA announcements, and buildings are locked for safety, making it difficult to collect belongings.
Last day of Term 1- 2:30pm pick up
Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm on the last day of Term 1, Thursday 2nd April.
If you are unable to collect your child at 2:30pm, please book a place for your child with School's Out!
School commences back for Term 2 on Monday 20th April.
Keelonith Baby News
Some members of our community may be aware that one of our teachers, Jess Weir, is currently on maternity leave.
We are absolutely delighted to share the wonderful news that Jess and Michael have welcomed their beautiful daughter, Ellie Mae Mackinnon, who arrived safely on 23rd March 2026.
We wish them all the very best as they enjoy this time together as first time parents.
