Principal Address

Dear Parents,

As we come to the end of another busy term, it's incredible to stop and reflect on all that God has done within our school community. There have been so many moments that have reminded us of His faithfulness and grace and I am continually grateful that it is His hand that has guided us through every challenge, celebration and ordinary day. His grace has sustained us and we have so much to give thanks for.

It's hard to believe that our school musical was only this term, it already feels like a distant memory! Since then, the term has continued at a remarkable pace with sporting events, co-curricular opportunities, excursions, Chapel and most importantly, the wonderful learning taking place in every classroom each and every day.

I continue to be amazed by our students, encouraged by our staff and humbled by the support of our families. HopePoint is a truly special community and I can honestly say that it is a privilege to serve as Principal. I am incredibly proud of our school and all that we are accomplishing together as we seek to honour God in everything we do.

As we head into the holidays, I pray that every family has the opportunity to rest, reconnect and enjoy some slower moments together. If you are travelling, I pray for safe journeys and God's protection over you. If you're staying closer to home, I hope this break provides time to recharge and prepare for another exciting term ahead.

A couple of updates before we finish the term:

School Bus Update

I'm pleased to share that our large school bus is back on the road and operating again. Thank you to those families impacted for your patience while repairs were completed. Early next term we will also begin rolling out BusMinder, a new system that will allow families to track the bus in real time and receive updates, making our bus service even more convenient and giving parents greater peace of mind. We look forward to sharing more information about this early next term.

Chapel Changes for Term 3

HopePoint Church will be undergoing renovations during Term 3. As a result, our chapel services will look a little different for a period of time, they will be taking place in the gym. Attendance will likely be limited to the families of students receiving awards and those whose classes are participating in the showcase of learning. We appreciate your understanding as we work through these temporary arrangements and will provide further details before the beginning of next term.

Finally, thank you once again for your ongoing partnership with our school. Your encouragement, support and prayers mean so much to our staff and students. Above all, we thank God for His abundant grace and faithfulness over HopePoint Christian School. 

It is a joy to see Him continuing to work in the lives of our students and throughout our community.

Performing Arts Update

What an exciting time it has been in Performing Arts at HopePoint Christian School! 

As we continue to grow our programs, it has been such a privilege to see students discovering their creativity, building confidence and using the gifts and talents God has given them.

Creative Arts play such an important role in student learning. Through music, drama, and dance, students develop skills that extend far beyond the stage. They learn perseverance, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, confidence and the ability to express themselves in meaningful ways. The arts provide students with opportunities to take risks, celebrate growth, and discover new passions.

One of the highlights this year has been seeing the incredible commitment from our students in our choirs. Over 80 students have been giving up half of their lunch breaks each week to come together, sing, learn and grow as a team. It has been wonderful to see students from across the school joining in, and a reminder that everyone is welcome. If your child would like to be involved, they are welcome to come along at any point.

Our beginner band students have also been busy starting their Monday morning practices. It has been exciting to watch them move from learning the basics of their instruments to playing real pieces of music together as a group. There is something special about hearing students create music as an ensemble and seeing their confidence grow each week.

Our afternoon dance clubs continue to be a highlight for many students. A big thank you to Miss Georgia for the amazing work she does in encouraging students, developing their skills, and creating a space where students can enjoy the joy of dance.

It has also been exciting to introduce our very first HPCS Dance Competition Group! Students were selected through an audition process, and we are thrilled to provide this opportunity for students who are passionate about dance to extend themselves, develop their skills, and represent our school.

It is such a blessing that HopePoint can provide these opportunities for students to explore their creativity and use their God-given gifts. We look forward to continuing to see our Performing Arts community grow and celebrate all that our students can achieve.
