Welcoming New Faces to Our Education Support Team
We're delighted to welcome Sasha and Ally to our Education Support team in the RTI (Response to Intervention) role this semester. Vanessa Hancock continues in her role as RTI teacher, leading 1:1 intervention and overseeing a strong term of progress with her students. Working under Vanessa's guidance, and overseen by Georgia, Sasha and Ally will be administering Junior years intervention using our UFLI phonics program, working alongside our LLLL phonics program and rich literacy program in the classroom.
Our broader ES team continues to support students across classrooms through a range of intervention programs, including 1:1 literacy support as well as small group writing and numeracy groups in the upper years.
These programs are designed to give students extra, individualised support alongside their regular classroom learning. Families of children participating in these programs will be contacted directly for consent before sessions begin. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to Georgia Soans at georgia.phillips@education.vic.gov.au.
SSGs
Student Support Group (SSG) Update
It's been wonderful to see such positive engagement in our Student Support Group meetings over the past few weeks. These sessions continue to highlight the strength of collaboration between families, teachers, school leadership, and allied health professionals, all working together to set tailored, meaningful IEP goals for our students. Thank you to everyone who has made the time to be part of these important conversations.
If your child has an active SSG and you haven't yet had the opportunity to attend one this term — whether due to absence, holidays, or other commitments — please don't worry. Melanie Irons or Georgia Soans will be in touch early in Term 3 to organise a suitable time.
