SNOW SPORTS TEAM

Join the 2026 Auburn South Snow Sports Team!

A small group of ASPS students will be competing in the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships at Mt Buller from 17 to 19 August, and all interested students are welcome to join the team.

The team is about having fun and creating team spirit, regardless of the child’s skiing ability. So if they can ski or snowboard down a green run by themselves, they can compete!

Please note that all costs of participating in the event are to be covered by the family. This includes ski gear, skis or snowboard, lift tickets, entry pass to the mountain, transport and accommodation.  Note that accommodation on the mountain is limited, so it is best to book as early as possible. 

At least one parent or guardian must attend the event at all times with their child, as there will not be any teachers or school staff attending. Note that the school views the Interschools Snowsports Events as an off-site activity NOT endorsed by the school. This means that students competing in the snow sports competition are not covered by DET insurance policies including personal accident, ambulance cover, motor vehicle or private property.

Interschool Chess Tournament

At the end of last term a number of ASPS chess enthusiasts competed in an Interschool Chess Tournament at St Catherine’s Primary School in Moorabbin. 

The team consisted of Aiden T, Elijah O, Lucy L, Luke L, Noah L and Owen B.

In a fantastic outcome ASPS placed 3rd out of 25 schools and two of our students (Noah 8th and Owen 9th) placed in the Top 10 out of 104 participants. This result means that ASPS now has a second team qualifying for the State Semi-Finals in October.

The next tournament is on 21 July with our biggest representation yet (11 students) signed up to compete at Bialik.
