Principal's Perspective

Dear Parents and Carers,
Starting Term 3!
Welcome back to the start of term three. We hope that families were able to spend some quality time together and enjoy the two weeks break from school, having fun, relaxing and taking time out.
Thank you to Kirsten and her team at TheirCare for coordinating the successful holiday program. The TheirCare team do a wonderful job in the before and after school hours program, and they did just as well with the holiday program.
I visited the program several times and saw a range of activities that students were enjoying and heard about some of their wonderful excursion experiences. Students were certainly enjoying themselves.
Proposed Industrial Action
As you may know, there is proposed stop work industrial action planned for next Thursday, 23rd July. I encourage all parents to make alternative arrangements for the day as many teachers will be participating in the stop work action.
More information confirming the classes that will not be required at school, will be shared to parents and carers closer to the date.

2025 NAPLAN Results
Congratulations to our students in years 3 and 5 for their great efforts in NAPLAN. Students worked hard in all areas of the assessment, linking together many years of knowledge building and skill development to perform very well across all areas. We congratulate all students for their efforts.
Thank you to our teachers for administering the assessments and working together to make the NAPLAN as seamless as possible for our students. Thank you also again to our ICT support team, Kavindu and Harris, who provided their assistance and support throughout the testing period.
Congratulations
I would like to pass on our heartfelt congratulations from all the staff to our very own Ms Jane Endersby (Yr 5 teacher), as she recently celebrated a milestone in her career. This coming week, Jane will be recognised for her contribution to the Victorian Department of Education, as she has served in the public education teaching sector for a total of 35 years.
Jane will be one of the many long-serving staff from across Victoria who are recognised for their dedication and loyalty of service to public education. We thank Jane for her commitment to public education and her ongoing commitment to the students at Auburn South Primary School.
If you see Ms Endersby, I encourage you to take a moment and please pass on your thanks and congratulations also.
Department of Education Parent Opinion Survey
The Department of Education will soon be making the Parent Opinion Survey open to parents and carers. We do ask that at least one member from each family completes the survey. Please keep an eye out for the email that will be sent announcing that the survey has opened. If you have any questions about the survey or lose your login details, please contact the school office.
Warm regards,
Travis
