Yr 1 Aboriginal Art

Last week, our Grade One students enjoyed an Indigenous Art Incursion where they learned about Indigenous culture, traditions, and storytelling through art. Students discovered how symbols and paintings can be used to share stories and communicate important messages. They also had the exciting opportunity to make their own ochre paint before using it to decorate wooden boomerangs. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that helped deepen their understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture.

Yr 3 Melbourne Museum

On 9 June, the Year 3 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Melbourne Museum. Throughout the day, we explored a range of fascinating exhibits and learned more about Australia's natural environment, history, and culture.

Highlights of our visit included the beautiful Milarri Gardens, the immersive Forest Gallery, and the inspiring First Peoples Exhibition, where we discovered stories and perspectives of Australia's First Nations peoples. We were also thrilled to see Phar Lap, Australia's most famous racehorse, and learn about the significance of the Australian Coat of Arms.

The students were engaged, curious, and enthusiastic throughout the day. It was a wonderful learning experience, and everyone had a fantastic time exploring the museum's many treasures.
