Casual Clothes Day

On Friday 26th June, we will be holding a Casual Clothes Day to support the important work of the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA).

Students are invited to come to school wearing casual clothes and are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation. All funds raised will be donated to VACCA, an organisation that supports Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities across Victoria.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to contribute to a worthy cause while learning about the importance of supporting organisations that promote the wellbeing, culture and strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We thank you for your support and generosity and look forward to a fantastic day.

Kind regards,

SRC Team

3-Way Conferences - Thursday 23rd July

The 3-Way conferences are live on compass if you haven't logged on yet please do so to book a time with your child's teacher.

3 Way Conferences provide an opportunity for students to report to their parents about their learning. During the conference, students share samples of work to demonstrate their learning and to talk about future focus areas.

3 Way Conferences are led by the students, with the teachers being present to support the student by adding comments where appropriate or prompting students if needed. Teachers provide greater support/coaching for the early years.

The primary purpose of reporting to parents is to improve student learning. In order to do this the reporting process is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. It enables students to develop their capacity to reflect on their learning successes and areas for further learning and hence assist their development as independent lifelong learners.

Due to Seda in 1B going on leave and Jean in 4C moving on, 3-way conferences for these two classes have been rescheduled to Thursday 25th June (next week). Students in 1B and 4C will attend school as normal on this day.

Reminder that Thursday 23rd July is a student-free day for all students, including 1B and 4C, even though they would originally have had their 3-way conferences on Thursday 25th June.

Schools OUT will also be providing a program on this day for families who require care.

Working Bee

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the working bee on Thursday due to the rain which ended up not being so bad, we had to make the call early unfortunately.

We have rescheduled to Monday 22nd June, 3:30–5:00pm. We have a skip bin being collected on Wednesday, 24th June, so Monday gives us the time we need to fill it.

If you have already volunteered and can still make the new date, please email the school to confirm your availability. If you are a new volunteer and can make Monday, we'd love your help too so please get in touch also via email.

Uniform Reminder

A reminder to families that hoodies, Oodies, and blankets are not part of the school uniform and should not be worn at school, along with jumpers with logos or graphics besides the Keelonith Primary School (KPS) logo. Students wearing these items will be asked to remove them while in the learning space.

Fruit/Vegetable Break & Nude Food

A reminder to families, when you provide fruit or vegetables for children to eat during fruit snack, please make sure they are in a separate, smaller container. As fruit snack happens while students continue learning, smaller containers are easier for them to manage on the tables.

Term 2 Assembly Dates

Our next assembly, in Week 10, which is our final week of term. We will be holding this assembly on Friday 26th June at 9:05am, as we did on the last day of Term 1.

We look forward to celebrating another successful term and would love to see our families there. The assembly will include student award presentations, special announcements and the announcement of our Specialist Captains.

We look forward to seeing you there as we get ready for our final assembly of the term.

Collecting Children During the Day

If you need to collect your child early, please notify the office in advance so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate students, particularly if they are in specialist classes or other learning areas.

To minimise disruptions, please avoid collections during:

•    Play 1: 10:58 - 11:28

•    Play 2: 1:14 - 1:44

During these times, children may not hear PA announcements, and buildings are locked for safety, making it difficult to collect belongings.
